Janet Sarah Wolfe, 84, Deming resident passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024 at her home.
A memorial service will be held Monday, April 15, 2024 at 2 o’clock in the afternoon at Baca’s Funeral Chapel. Pastor Jack Schoenthaler will be officiating. Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Mimbres Crematory.
Janet was born September 16, 1939 in Lakeview, MI to Darrell Rossman and Lida Thomson. Janet graduated from Central Michigan University with a B.S. Degree in Science and Education. She began her teaching career in a one room school house. She taught for many years and continued her teaching career at UNM as a lab tech. After her retirement Janet enjoyed traveling, she traveled as far as Australia, New Zealand, and Costa Rica. For a short while she lived in Hawaii and had a love for Asian culture. During her travels, she embraced the southwest culture which led her to Deming, New Mexico. Throughout her life she was involved with many community groups, especially in Deming. She enjoyed helping others as well as her community. Janet loved music, which led her to learn and play many instruments. She even provided music for churches on a variety of instruments. On her free time, she was a very accomplished seamstress. Janet loved sewing, knitting, and crocheting. Even being very creative with crafts. She even enjoyed photography.
She is survived by her husband Steven Wolfe; 2 children, Richard Alexander, and Andrea (James) Tucker; her grandchildren, Timothy (Gabriela) Tucker and their daughter Luzmaria Tucker, Alicemarie Tucker, Edward Tucker, and Priscilla Tucker, as well as her 5 siblings, David (Deb) Rossman, Norman (Rhoda) Rossman, Nancy Bertch, Catherine Killinger, and Martha (Jack) Beebe.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Darrell and Lida Rossman and her siblings Richard, Ruth, and Eileen Rossman.
