Life Legacy


RAWLAND DEAN COGAN, 79, resident of Deming passed away Wednesday June 1, 2011. As were his wishes, cremation will take place and no services will be held.

Rawland was born April 30, 1932 in Latrobe, Pennsylvania to William and Sarah (Dennison) Cogan. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War and afterward went to work with Latrobe Steel. Rawland was a craneman and retired from Latrobe Steel after 40 years of employment. He enjoyed his life and loved dancing and also the Southwestern United States. He has been a resident of Deming since 2003 and was a member of the Methodist Church.

He is survived by his loving companion of 15 years, Audrey Zufall of Deming; daughters, Kathleen Hogan of Greensburg, PA, Patty Jo Sipe of Harrisburg, PA; sons, Rawland Cogan II and Christopher Cogan of Latrobe, PA; brother, Robert Cogan of Somerset, PA, sister Selma McCan of Alabama; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
