Angel M. Martinez

Angel M. Martinez, 83, of Silver City passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 30, 2019.

Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Silver City Crematory. A Memorial Service will be held at Baca’s Funeral Chapels on Monday, November 04, 2019 at 9:30 in the morning with Pastor Chad Hussey officiating. A Committal Ceremony with Military Honors will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery at 11 o’clock in the morning.

Angel was born on August 02, 1936 in Corona, New Mexico. He loved fishing and hunting and was also a mechanic. He loved sharing his knowledge with everyone, especially with his grandchildren. At 23 years old, Angel enlisted in the Army and served during the Korean War. He was a longtime miner with Freeport-McMoran.

 Angel is survived by his wife Antonia R. Martinez and by their sons Robert Martinez (Jeanne), Angel Martinez (Claudia), and Jose Martinez; daughters Terry Morgan (Bill), Angelica Venegas, Tonie Romero (Ernest) and Elizabeth Hutchinson (Charles); brothers, Pete and Joe Martinez; 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Angel is preceded in death by his parents, Jose M. Martinez and Damacia M. Martinez.
