Aurelia (Chavez) Dominguez

Aurelia Dominguez, 83, longtime Deming resident passed away Thursday September 19, 2019 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces.

Visitation will be Sunday September 22, 2019 at 4 o’clock in the afternoon at Baca’s Funeral Chapel with a rosary service to follow at 6 o’clock led by Elizabeth Dominguez.  Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday September 23, 2019 at 9 o’clock in the morning at Saint Ann’s Catholic Church. Fr. Alejandro Reyes will officiate. Cremation will follow at Baca’s Mimbres Crematory.  Inurnment will take place at a later date at Mountain View Cemetery.

Aurelia was born June 16, 1936 to Juliana Hernandez and Crisostomo Chavez at Estacion Conchos, Chihuahua, Mexico.  She was a homemaker and a communicant of Saint Ann’s Catholic Church.  She married Jesus Dominguez and together raised their family and moved to Deming in 1971.  She will be remembered for her baking, cooking, and the crochet blankets she made for her grandchildren and the love she had for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Jesus Dominguez of the home; 5 sons, Francisco Alfredo Dominguez and his wife Rosalia of Omaha, NE, Jesus Fernando Dominguez and his wife Elvira of Union City, CA, Candelario “Candy” Dominguez and his wife Irma of Deming, Ladislado “Lalis” Dominguez and his wife Guadalupe of Las Cruces, Arturo Dominguez and his wife Elizabeth of Deming; daughters, Luz Teresa Green of Deming, Antonia “Suni” Flores and her husband Salvador of Salinas, CA, Ana Julia Salazar and her husband Joel of Las Cruces; brother, Jose Luis Hernandez; sisters, Carlota Holguin and Martha Melendez; 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Gilberto, Rafael, Bertha, Alicia and Juana.

Serving as pallbearers will be Joel Salazar, Jonathan Salazar, Arturo Dominguez Jr., Alfonso Dominguez, Candelario Dominguez and Carlos Castro.
