Aurora P Barela

Aurora P. Barela, 87, of Patagonia, Arizona passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at her residence.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 from Six to Seven o’clock in the evening at Baca’s Funeral Chapels in Silver City.  The Prayer Vigil and Rosary will follow at Seven o’clock led by Deacon Bill Holguin.  A Graveside Service will be Thursday,  August 8, 2019 at Eleven o’clock in the morning at Fort Bayard National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband Adolfo.  Officiating will be Deacon Bill Holguin.  Serving as pallbearers are, Geoff Barela, Gregg Barela, Santiago Rodriguez and Arthur Vega.

Aurora was born on February 13, 1932 in Hurley to Refugio Parra and Josefa Madrid Parra.  She is survived by her son, Benjamin Barela (Marta); grandchildren, Geoff Barela (Pam), Gregg Barela (Tomi), four great granddaughters, Kira Barela, Reyna Barela, Teagan Barela and Molly Tremain; many nieces and nephews.  Aurora was preceded in death by her husband, Adolfo Barela and a daughter, Virginia.
