Beda P Saborio

Beda Padilla Saborio went to her heavenly Father on Thursday, September 5, 2019 surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

The Prayer Vigil and Rosary will take place on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at six o’clock in the evening at Infant Jesus Catholic Shrine in Hurley led by Deacon Bill Holguin.  The Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at eleven o’clock in the morning also at Infant Jesus Shrine.  Concluding services and burial will follow at the Hurley Cemetery.  Officiating is Father Casmir Anozie.  Serving as pallbearers will be Cody Saborio, Tereso Rivera, Terry Rivera, Eric Valencia, Matthew Gonzales, Doug Baer, Joey Lopez, Randy De La O and Matthew Valenzuela.  Honorary pallbearers will be Destiny Sanchez, Desiree De La O, Micaela Fierro, Cindy Sias, Tillie Tafoya, Sylvia Gomez, Alicia Soto, Bennie Medina and Liza Miranda.

Beda was born on April 14, 1943 to Espiridion Padilla and Isabel Garcia in Hurley, NM.  The eighth child of 14 brothers and sisters, Beda was the fun sister and auntie.  She had a very beautiful soul and heart and loved everyone that she met.  Everyone was welcomed into her home and made sure that they were fed.  Beda’s home was filled with love and music.  She loved to sing, had a beautiful voice and taught herself to play the piano and to crochet.  To Beda, nothing was impossible.  Her favorite things in life was her family time, the Sunday family dinners, Christmas, cooking, making the hardest jigsaw puzzles, crocheting doilies, and camping.  Beda was always singing and learning new songs and Beda and her sisters knew over 300 songs.  She would often sit with her son and they would both sing.  The best times for her, was when her grandchildren were by her side, Welita adored them.  She had a special bond with them and connected with her nieces and nephews as well.  Beda met and married the love of her life, Manuel G. Saborio.  They were married on January 14, 1967 and their union lasted 37 years and they both had an amazing bond.  He would call her Pichoncita and she called him Pichon.

Beda is survived by her children, Manuel P. Saborio Jr., Louise Sanchez (Javier Jr.), and Darlene Saborio; grandchildren, Cody D. Saborio and Destiny Sanchez of North Hurley; sisters, Ernestina Chacon (Manuel), Lilly Sandoval; her sisters from the heart, Melinda Gonzales (Alfonso), Natalia Saborio (Ross), Patty Saborio, Rose Norero, Lela Padilla, Mary Padilla.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Espiridion Padilla in 1982 and Isabel Padilla in 1963; husband, Manuel G. Saborio Sr., 2004; son, Javier P. Saborio, 1972; siblings, Mike, Ida, Willie. Leo, Josie, Maria, Jose and Manuel Padilla, Anita Munoz.
