Brent Matzen Obituary

Brent Matzen, 75, Deming resident passed away Tuesday March 13, 2018 at Mimbres Memorial Hospital.

No services will take place as were his wishes. Cremation has been entrusted to Baca's Mimbres Crematory.

Brent was born March 8, 1943 to Leatha Florine (Elliott) and James Eugene Matzen in Wichita, Kansas. He recently moved to Deming in 2016 coming from Ute Park, NM. Brent and his wife, Martha owned and operated Matzen Pottery for 26 years. He taught Art and loved pottery and painting.

He is survived by wife, Martha Matzen of Deming; son, Zachary James Brent Matzen and wife Rebecca of Fort Worth, TX; daughter, Sabrina Louise Matzen Gleed and husband Jody of Las Vegas, NV; step-son, John Cook and wife Arlene of Clearwater, FL; step-daughters, Mary Cook Quick of Austin, TX, Anne Cook of San Antonio, TX; brother, Robert Matzen of Littleton, CO; sister, Linda Ehrke of Overland Park, KS; 4 grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents, James and Leatha Matzen.
