Delfina F. Warnack, 76, of Silver City passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at her residence.
The Prayer Vigil and Rosary will be on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at nine o’clock in the morning at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Officiating will be Deacon Bill Holguin. The Funeral Mass will be at nine-thirty in the morning also at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Concluding services and burial will take place at eleven o’clock in the morning at Fort Bayard National Cemetery. Officiating will be Father Oliver Obele.
Delfina was born on September 21, 1942 in Silver City to Edwardo Flores and Magdalena Castillo. She was married 49 years to the love of her life, David A. Warnack. Her two sons, daughter-in-law and three grandchildren were her world. Delfina was a teacher for the Silver City Public Schools for thirty years. She received the runner-up Teacher of the Year Award in Santa Fe for the state of New Mexico. One of her greatest rewards was to touch the lives of the many students she taught. Delfina loved each one of them as if they were her own.
Delfina is survived by her loving husband, David A. Warnack; sons, David M. Warnack (Irene Cullen) and Bryan E. Warnack; sister, Maria Flores Arellano (Jesus); three grandchildren, Joseph, Owen and Imogene Warnack; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwardo and Magdalena Flores; god-mother, Rosa V. Castillo; brothers, Enrique C. Flores, Marcos Flores; adopted brother Crispin Arellin and wife Mary; a nephew, Robert Flores.
