Dora L (Loera) Escobar

Dora L. Escobar, 95, of Silver City passed away November 13, 2018 at her home.

Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Funeral Chapels.  Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Monday, November 19, 2018 at eight-thirty in the morning at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church followed by the Funeral Mass at nine o’clock in the morning.  Concluding services and burial will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery at eleven o’clock in the morning.  Officiating will be Father Oliver Obele.  Serving as honorary pallbearers are all her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Dora was born October 16, 1923 in Fierro, NM to Pedro and Juanita Loera.  Dora is survived by two sons, Richard Escobar (Yolanda) of Silver City and Alex Escobar (Dora) of Bayard; two daughters, Olivia Chanez (Reynie) of Hurley and Virginia Alirez (Robert) of Santa Clara.  Also surviving is a special granddaughter Barbara Avalos of Silver City; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, a special sister-in-law, Juanita Escobar and brother-in-law, Emiterio Escobar (Nena).  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Vicente Escobar, a son Vicente Escobar Jr. (Guero) and brothers and sisters.
