Edith Ann Patton of Redrock, NM passed away Friday January 11 at Sunshine Haven Nursing Home in Lordsburg. She was 82 years old.
She was born in Hawley, Texas, on July 10, 1936 to Leslie Herman Miller & Eunice Oral Burk Weaver.
She and her husband Richard moved to Redrock in 1969. She owned the Redrock Country Store and ran the post office from 1981 to 1994.
She is survived by her 2 daughters of Redrock—Sharon Whatley and her husband Lynn and Teri Wright and her husband Bill. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren—Lori Darley and her husband Mark of Roscoe, IL; Carrie Perrault of Las Cruces; James Wright and his wife Kita of Las Cruces; Kenny McCauley of Morenci, AZ; and Paul McCauley and his wife Kayla of Cliff. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren—Shaylynn Marie, Faith Nicole, Mattison Hope, Levi James, Hannah Grace,
Elisha Love, Veronica Rose, Rebekah Divine and Isabelle Therese—all Perraults—and all of Las Cruces; Will Wright of Las Cruces; Olivia Grace McCauley of Safford, AZ; and Mason Thomas McCauley of Cliff. Also surviving are her uncle Jack Burk of Silver City, and her sisters-in-law Dorothy McDaniel of Silver City and Patricia Patton of Deming and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 51 years Richard; her mother and father; and her 2 brothers Lewis Miller and Charles Harsh.
Cremation has taken place. No services are planned at this time. A private service will be held at a later date.
