Edwin J Ward

Edwin J. Ward, 88, lifelong NM resident passed away Tuesday January 7, 2020 at Mimbres Memorial Nursing Home.

Graveside service will take place Saturday January 11, 2020 at 1 o’clock in the afternoon at White Oaks Cemetery in White Oaks, New Mexico.  Pastor Jack Ferguson, Tinnie First Baptist Church will officiate. 

Edwin was born December 17, 1931 to Margaret Caroline Current and Samuel B. Ward in Oscura, New Mexico.  He served his country honorably in the US Air Force and was a lifelong rancher and resident of Garfield, NM.  Edwin married the love of his life, Vivian Ihlenfeldt and raised their family together. 

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Vivian Ward of Deming; 2 sons, Allan Ward and his wife Cathi of Capitan, NM, Michael Ward of Garfield; 2 daughters, Kathleen Keene and her husband Clyde, Marleen Limon and her husband Tony both of Deming; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Ward of Deming; 20 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Margaret Ward; son, Jerry Ward and granddaughter, Jamie Harris.

Serving as pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
