Ramirez: Erlinda E. Ramirez, 92, died in Atlanta Georgia peacefully at her daughter’s home.
She was the youngest daughter of ten siblings born to Guillermo and Natalia Elias. Erlinda was the widow of Ben V. Ramirez. She was a wonderful mother, and had 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Erlinda grew up with a father who was well known in Grant County as a rancher and cattleman. He died when she was very young and so she was raised by her widowed mother and taught how to shoot a rifle and box by her older brothers. However, when she grew up, she traded her outdoor skills for dancing shoes. She loved to jitterbug and enjoyed dancing to Spanish music. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She worked many years as surgical assistant at Watts Clinic.
She is survived by one Son Louie Madrid of Albuquerque, New Mexico, one daughter Betty Hayes of Atlanta, Georgia. She will be missed as she continues her journey to a heavenly home.
Visitations for friends and family will be at Baca’s Funeral Home on Sunday, October 14,2018 from 4-6pm. Funeral service will be Monday, October 15, 2018 at 12:00 noon at the the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Silver City, with Bishop Zollinger officiating. Interment followed at the Fort Bayard National Cemetery at 2:00 PM. Serving as pallbearers will be her six grandsons: Henry Hayes, James Thomas, Bart Thomas, Ben Madrid, Joe Madrid and Scott Neiderhauser.
