Eusebio (JR) Talavera Salas was called home by his Lord and Saviour on July 19, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM where he was surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be from 5 to 6 pm on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Baca’s Funeral Chapels where the recitation of the Holy Rosary will follow at 6pm led by Deacon Art Gutierrez. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 10 am on Friday, August 2, 2019 at St. Francis Newman Center Parish with Father Bartholomew Ezenwelem officiating. Cremation will follow at Baca’s Silver City Crematory.
He was born on December 22, 1978 in Silver City, NM to Ida Talavera and Eusebio “Cheby” Salas. He enjoyed his work as a tattoo artist, listening to music, especially Oldies, spending time with his Mom and his friends, and loved working on his car. He also loved watching his team, the Dallas Cowboys, play every chance he had.
He is survived by his parents, Ida Talavera Salas (Cynthia “C. J.” Jones) and Eusebio “Cheby” Salas; his brother Christopher Talavera Salas (Celina); his sons Eusebio Uzziah Salas and Samuel Angel Salas; and his daughter Alianna Camilla Salas; his grandma Alice Talavera Dominguez; his aunties, Lillian T. Stewart (Anthony), Jane T. Gutierrez (Jesse), Dodie T. Gonzales (Geraldo), Raqui Dominguez, Julie V. Martinez (Tommy Munoz), Angie Morales, Lorraine Lopez, and Jenny Lara (Billy); godfather Willie Sierra; nephews, Isaac J. Arizaga, Riley J. Hernandez, and Kristopher A. Steele; nieces, Jemma R. Hernandez, and Keiliani Salas; special cousins Jackie Gonzales, Chu Chu Gonzales, Sophia Gonzales, Willie “Spunky” Sierra, Anthony Lang, Andrew “DruBear” Lopez and Dayjiah “Drama Queen” Dominguez; and special friends, April D. Hernandez, Jorge Rodriguez, and Olga Munoz. Pallbearers will be Andrew “DruBear” Lopez, Geraldo Gonzales, Anthony Steward, Willie “Spunky” Sierra, Jorge Rodriguez, and Rudy Garcia. He was preceded in death by his great-grandma Camilla Gomez, grandpa Florentino Gomez, grandma Lupe Salas, grandpa Eusebio M. Salas and special friend Kent Lainhart.
