Fabiola S. Torres

Fabiola S. Torres, 89 of Bayard, passed away, December 30, 2019 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces.

Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Funeral Chapels.  A Memorial Service will be at 2 pm on Friday January 3, 2020 at Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall, 2415 Pinos Altos Road.

Fabiola was born October 11, 1930 in Holman, NM to Max and Mamie (Gandard) Sanchez.  She had lived in Santa Rita and had moved to Bayard in 1968.  She married Fortunato Torres in 1948 and had nine children.  Fabiola enjoyed music and loved to sing to her favorite songs.  She was a hard working person but always found the time to spend time with her greatest love, her entire family.  Fabiola was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Fabiola is survived by her husband of 71 years, Fortunato; five sons, Fortunato Torres Jr. (Fortune), Alex Torres (Irma), Ernie Torres (Tonette), Andy Torres and David Torres; Four daughters, Charlotte Medina (Frank), Patsy Sosaya (Robert), Margaret Cordova, and Lorraine Muniz (Eloy); three sisters ,Mary Fairchild, Dolores Baca, and Cleo Sanchez.  Also surviving Fabiola are 26 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one grandson and one great grandson.
