Frederick William Appert

Frederick William Appert, 82, Deming resident went to be with the Lord on Friday January 11, 2019 at his home.

Fred was born September 21, 1936 to Tony and Marcella (Garske) Appert in Hazelton, North Dakota. He was one of twelve children and attended Hazelton High School and NDSSS. Fred was in the Army National Guard for six years and was in active duty for one year. He started his career in farming in Hazelton, North Dakota and then married Dorothy (Freitag) Appert on October 7, 1961. He later retired from farming and finished his working years as a crop insurance adjuster. Fred enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting and skiing. Fred and Dorothy moved to Deming in 2005.

He will be remembered by his wife, Dorothy; 2 sons, Darren (Cindi) Appert of Fergus Falls, MN and Randy (Christine) Appert  of Rio Rancho, NM; 3 granddaughters, Kelsey (McGowan), Rachel (Larson), and Camryn Appert; 2 great-great grandchildren, Matthias (Larson) and Hallie (Mcgowan)

The family thanks those who prayed for, and supported us through this challenging time. The service will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church (615 S. Copper) in Deming, NM Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 11 o’clock in the morning. Deacon Dan Peña will officiate. Military honors will be accorded. Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Mimbres Crematory.
