Guadalupe Pas Obituary

Guadalupe Reyes Pas, resident of Santa Clara entered into eternal rest at her daughter Tina’s Home in Arenas Valley on Saturday June 8, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born to Joaquin and Augustina (Delgado) Reyes on October 10, 1919 in Santa Rosalia, Camargo, Mexico.  “Lupe” was a devout member of the Roman Catholic Church.  She enjoyed working in her garden and taking care of her many house plants.  She loved spending time with her birds and watching her favorite novellas or listening to her favorite Mexican music.  She liked to pass the time by doing puzzles, crafts, and crocheting.    Her greatest joy though was cooking for all her family or anybody that happened to stop by and visiting with all her grandchildren.   Lupe loved her pet dog “Wrinkles”, her companion and protector, who preceded her in death.   She was the youngest and last surviving sibling of 11 children.  Family immigrated to the U.S., was raised in Santa Rita and became a U.S. citizen in 1982.

She is survived by her daughters, Tina Pas of Arenas Valley; Ruth (Chris) Moreland of Santa Clara; and Gloria Barraza of Arenas Valley.  Son in law, Sammy Gonzales of Las Cruces. Grandchildren, James (Annette) Pas, Alfred ( Jennifer) Pas,  Mary (Steven) Marin, Sammy Gonzales Jr, Lisa (Anthony) Campbell, Michelle (Adan) Jacquez, Michael (Julia) Moreland, Rosie(Ryan) Fischer, Lupe Vigil; A very special (adopted son by heart) Antonio Arredondo Sr, and sister in law, Romelia Reyes of Santa Clara. 34 great grandchildren, 10 great great granchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by, her husband Alfredo (Catis) Pas, son Alfred Pas Jr., infant daughter Augustina Pas, daughter Rosie Gonzales, granddaughter Stella Legarda, great granddaughter Angela Arellin,  grandson in law Chris Vigil all in 2017.  Son in law Pepe Barraza 2019. Five brothers, Jose, Manuel, Victor, Jesus and Juan Reyes.  Five sisters, Genoveva, Agapita, Maria Reyes, Gregoria Perez, and Nicholasa Salazar.

The Funeral Mass for Lupe will be at 9:30 am on Friday, June 14, 2019 at Santa Clara Catholic Church.  Concluding service and burial will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Alfredo.  Serving as pallbearers will be James Pas Sr., Michael Moreland,  Ernie Reyes, Jose Reyes Jr, George Reyes, and Joseph A Kirker.
