John Victor Shivner, 46, of Silver City, NM, passed away unexpectedly on February 20, 2018 in Silver City, NM at Gila Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. February 28 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church. His ashes are being taken home to Oregon to be spread.
John was born in Stayton, Oregon to David Shivner and Rebecca Leroue on July 25, 1972. He went to school in Oregon. He married Connie Holbrook on October 9, 2007 in Dallas, Oregon. He loved to fish, work on vehicles, ride motorcycles and four wheelers, watch NASCAR races, play games, play football, and spend time with his grandchildren. He was very protective and loyal to his family and friends.
John is preceded in death by his father David Shivner and Mother Rebecca Leroue.
John is survived by his wife Connie (Duncan) Holbrook of New Mexico; his aunt Zelma Edwards; his son Robert Shivner of Hawaii; his daughter Rebecca Shivner of Oregon; his step son Josh Engebrets of Nevada; his step son Jason Phillips of Hawaii; his step son Jeffery Nason of Oregon; his step daughter Kelly Adams-Freeman and her husband John Freeman of New Mexico; his brother Bill Stokesbary of Oregon; his sister Roseann Powers and her husband Rick Powers of Oregon; his sister Vivian Shivner of Oregon; his brother David Shivner and his wife Leslee Shivner of California; four grandchildren; Luna Phillips of Hawaii; Anastasia Tabor, Jacob Tabor and Willow Freeman of New Mexico; and many nieces and nephews.
