Lily, as she was affectionately known was born March 20, 1927 in Hurley, NM to Arnulfo and Delfina (Soto) Perez.  She and her husband owned and operated a grocery store in North Hurley from the 1940’s until the 1970’s. Lily was employed as a bus driver for the Cobre Consolidated School District and worked at Ft. Bayard Medical Center. A loving mother and homemaker, Lily was a remarkable cook and seamstress, often making matching outfits for her daughters as they we were growing up. Lily loved the outdoors; camping at the lake, going on hunting trips with her family, and gardening at her home. Lily and Frank loved to travel to yearly Prisoner of War Conventions. She and Frank traveled to Israel in 1998 with a church group as her love for God grew tremendously in 1986. Lily became a born again Christian that year and was a devout, faithful, serving, member of The Door Church for 33 years. Her heart was always towards seeing souls saved especially her family.
Lily is survived by two sons, Elmo (Peggy) Baca of Nipomo, CA and Jerry Baca (Clara Polanco) of Queen Creek, AZ; two daughters, Pamela (Edward) Kriegel of Anthony, NM and Michelle (Tom) Ryan of Arenas Valley, NM; two brothers, Adam (Rosemary) Perez of La Mirada, CA and Joshua (Sonia) Perez of Rio Rancho, NM; one sister, Eva (Jose) DeHoyos of San Antonio, TX.  Nine grandchildren, Tanya Caruso, Kenneth Baca, Javier Baca, Marivel Pesqueira, Jessica Brazeal, Ben Uzeta, Shawn Ryan, Caleb Ryan and Lyndsay Ryan; and 16 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank O. Baca in 2011; a son, Greg Baca; her parents, Arnulfo and Delfina Perez; 4 sisters, Ramona Perez, Ester Perez, Mary Perez Castillo, and Naomi Perez Ortega; and one brother, Arnulfo “Sonny” Perez.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations can be made to the Alzheimers Association, 225 N Michigan Ave. FI 17, Chicago.
