Magda Vasquez

Magda was born on August 26, 1927 in Los Angeles, CA to Josephine Silva and Alberto G. Duran. She lived in California all her life until moving to New Mexico in 2016. On December 2, 1955 she married Florencio (Tony) Vasquez. They were married for 57 years until his passing in 2012. She was an accomplished seamstress, even making an extraordinary wedding dress for her daughter Letty. She was an avid reader and could spend hours at a time with a book. She was happiest spending time with her children, grandchildren, and watching her novelas and Blue Bloods. She taught her children to be caring and giving with others. She will be missed beyond measure.

Magda is survived by her children Rebecca Guzman, Patricia Holguin (Miki), Vivian Herrera (Jerry), Janet Vasquez, Tony Vasquez (Rosa), Robert Vasquez (Illiana), Leticia Lupercio, and David Vasquez.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Adrian, Larry, Anissa, Jerome, Nathan,Eric, Michelle, Parise, Kyle, Alec, Elizabeth, Audria, Marissa and Matthew.She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Armida.

Magda was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Tony Vasquez, her parents, 5 brothers and 3 sisters. She was also preceded in death by her son Victor Vasquez, son-in-law Daniel Lupercio, and granddaughter Natalie Fernandez.

Cremation has been entrusted to Baca's Funeral Chapels and no memorial is planned at this time.
