Manuel G. Hernandez

Manuel G. Hernandez, 76, Deming resident passed away Tuesday December 10, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces.

Viewing will begin Friday December 13, 2019 at 10 o’clock in the morning at Baca’s Funeral Chapel and recitation of the holy rosary will follow at 11 o’clock with Haydee Chavez reciting there. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 o’clock at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with the rite of committal and interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Fr. Manuel F. Ibarra, Pastor, will officiate.

Manuel was born April 15, 1943 in Manuel Benavides, Chihuahua, Mexico to Manuel Hernandez and Idilfonsa Galindo. In 1990 he and his family moved to Deming from Presidio, Texas. Here is where he raised his family and made this town his home. He had a love for horses and making homemade tortillas for his family and was a very talented cook. Manuel will always be remembered for being a very hard worker, always strong and courageous for anything that came through into his life, he would never give up. He had a tremendous amount of love for his family and was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church.  

Survivors include his wife, Herminia (Carrazco) Hernandez; son, Rosvelt (Kristie Baca) Hernandez of Deming; 5 daughters, Maria Hernandez, Sylvia Hernandez, Elisama (Johnny) Gonzales, Lupita Hernandez all of Deming and Juanita Hernandez of Albuquerque, NM; 4 brothers, Ezequiel (Francisca) Hernandez or Chihuahua, MX, Isidro (Victoria) Hernandez of San Antonio, TX, Angel Hernandez of Fort Stockton, TX, and Armando Hernandez of Chihuahua, MX; sister, Gloria Padilla of Chihuahua, MX; 13 grandchildren plus one on the way and 1 great-grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Idilfonsa Hernandez; 3 sisters, Luz-Elena Hernandez, Elva Galindo and Lupe Tavarez as well a brother, Reyes Hernandez.

Pallbearers will be Rosvelt, Mark, Javier and Mandiz Hernandez, Johnny Gonzales, Lalo Chavez and Ethan Alba.
