Manuel A Holguin, 91 of Santa Clara passed away Sunday, November 17, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.
Cremation has taken place and a service to celebrate Manual’s life will be at 10 am on Friday, November 22, 2019 at Baca’s Funeral Chapels with Father Louis Ronderos, S.M. officiating. Inurnment of his cremated remains will follow at 11 am at Fort Bayard National Cemetery. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be David Munoz, Jr., Danny Munoz, Derrick Munoz, Danny Joe Munoz, Ralph Holguin Jr., and Randy Holguin.
Manuel was born April 10, 1928 in Santa Clara, NM to Jose and Seferina (Alvarado) Holguin. He had worked at Empire Zinc, UV Industries and Sharon Steel, most recently he was a custodian at Hurley Elementary School. Manuel loved the outdoors, camping and spending time with his family fishing and hunting. Manuel will definitely be missed by all his family and friends who knew him.
Manuel is survived by his wife, Susie; three sons, Ruben Holguin, Rodolfo Holguin and Ralph Holguin; one daughter, Rosalie (David) Munoz; one brother, Alfredo Holguin; and three sisters, Rita Ronderos, Sally Holguin, and Gloria Gomez. Also surviving him are 23 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and his special caregivers, Danny Joe Munoz, Darlene Munoz and Diane Magdaleno. He was preceded in death by a son, Reynaldo Holguin; and five brothers, Jimmy, Bobby, Pilo, Daniel, and Salvador “Chino”.
