Manuel S Pena

Manuel Silva Pena, 95 of Hurley passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Silver City Care Center. 

Visitation for Manuel will be on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from eleven-thirty to twelve-thirty and the Funeral Service will be at twelve-thirty in the afternoon at Baca’s Funeral Chapels.  Concluding service and burial will follow at two o’clock in the afternoon Fort Bayard National Cemetery. 

Manuel was born September 5, 1924 in Faywood, NM to Federico and Virginia (Silva) Pena.  He had served his country honorably in the United States Army and had worked and retired as a truck driver from Kennecott Copper Corporation.  Manuel enjoyed the outdoors, sunshine and especially hunting.  He was a member of the Catholic Church.  Manuel will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Manuel is survived by his wife of 71 years, Dessie; two daughters, Mary Ellen Kime (Tom) of Gilbert AZ and Carol Wright (Ray) of Wiggins, CO; two brothers, Willie Pena and Fred Pena; two sisters, Virginia Madrid and Luisa Falls; six grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.  Manuel was preceded in death by his parents and a son Frank Pena.
