Margaret Placencio

Margaret Gomez Placencio, 65, passed away the morning of 12 September 2019 at The Center for Compassionate Care in El Paso, TX.

Margaret was a loving mom, sister, cousin, aunt, grandma, great-grandma, and friend to all who knew her.

Margaret was well known as a homemaker who also held a few jobs throughout her professional career. Family time was her favorite time and she was always willing to help where and when she could, even while she was dealing with her own health issues. She also enjoyed the outdoors, camping in the wilderness, hiking in the Gila Wilderness, or just playing around at the Gila River – all in Grant County, NM.

Margaret was born on 2 December 1953 in Silver City, NM; one of nine children of Cipriano Placencio Sr. and Elvira Gomez. Margaret is survived by her two children, Monica Aguirre of El Paso, TX and Thomas Placencio of Woodbridge, VA; her son’s-in-laws Carlos Aguirre Sr. and Eric Wells Placencio; her grandchildren Carlos Aguirre Jr., Cynthia Aguirre, and Ashley Love; her great-grandchildren Carlitos Aguirre, Adalynne Love, Freya Love, Leah Resendez, and Miah Resendez; her brothers and sisters, Bennie Placencio and his wife, Tilley Placencio, of Silver City, NM, Robert Placencio and his wife, Hilda Placencio, of Mesa, AZ, Cipriano Placencio Jr. and his wife, Ginny Placencio, of Rowland Heights, CA, her sister, Genevieve Holladay of Tucson, AZ, her sister Patricia Laguna and her husband, Ron Laguna, of Tucson, AZ, her sister, Connie Martinez of Fresno, CA, and her brother Ray Placencio and his wife Yolanda Placencio, of Las Cruces, NM. She is also survived by numerous other family members. She is preceded in death by her brother Miguel Placencio of Las Cruces, NM and both her parents, Cipriano Placencio Sr. and Elvira Gomez of Silver City, NM.

Cremation has been entrusted with Mount Carmel Funeral Homes in El Paso, TX. 

A Memorial Service will take place on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at four o'clock in the afternoon at Baca's Funeral Chapels in Silver City.  Officiating will be Deacon Bill Holguin.
