Naoma Nolan Obituary

Naoma R. Nolan, 98, a resident of Silver City entered eternal rest on Monday, August 27th 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.

Services will be held at 12:30pm on Friday August 31st, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  Bishop Zollinger will be officiating.  Concluding services and interment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery at 2:00pm.

Naoma was born on June 21st 1920 in Luna, NM to William “Harry” and Charlotte “Lottie” Reynolds.  She received her bachelor’s of science in teaching at WNMU, where she went on to teach a bit in Glenwood, NM.  She also worked at Macys in New York.  She held many callings in the church, such as stake relief society president.  Anyone who knew Naoma, loved her.  Her most important calling was being the matriarch to her family.  She married  William  “Bill” Nolan on November 26, 1942 and they were married for 73 years.  They were the reason we believe in love and fairy tales. To have known Naoma is to know love and what it means to love unconditionally.  She lived every minute of life in the service of others.  Her heart and kitchen were always open, walking in to a smile, a hug and the smell of freshly baked bread, and leaving to the words, “take it easy” or “stay out of mischief” as you walk out with the feeling that  you only wish you could bottle up for a rainy day.  She left an impact on every single person she met and it can be said that you were a better person because of her.

Naoma is survived by her twin daughters Brenda and her husband Rod Larson and Linda and her husband Tony Marchan, and a son Patrick Nolan.  She is survived by her grandchildren, Melinda Pepper, Jennifer and Ramon Arroyo, Angie and Ronnie Duval, Wendy and Matthew Beck, Gayle and Donald Suiter, Rena Suiter, Jared Larson, Lynsey and Chad Cox, Tyrell Larson, Lee Larson, Terri and Marty Marchan, Todd Marchan and Eathan Settle.  Also surviving her are 26 great-grandchildren; Mackenzie (Brody), Shyenne, Cody (Amber), Montana (Dylan), Clay, Brendon, Kai, Destiny, Kamdin, Jacob, Ayden, Kaitlyn, Alexis, Dallin, Raiden, Alivia, Raileigh, Landen, Alexander, Dominic, AnnMarie, Teeana, Auwnjanaye, Timothy, Kaliyah and Kalom.  Lastly surviving her are her two Great-great grandchildren Ashtyn and Audrey.  In addition, she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlotte “Lottie” Eager and William Harry Reynolds.  Her brothers; Max, Lamar, Dave, Ralph, Merle, and Herald Dale; her sisters, Beth and Mary B.  She is preceded in death by her husband and soul mate William “Bill” Nolan, married 73 years.

Serving as pallbearers are Tyrell Larson, Ronnie Duval, Ramon Arroyo, Jared Larson, Lee Larson, Marty Marchan, Cody Duval and Matthew Beck.  Honorary pallbearers are Clay Pepper, Kai Arroyo, Jacob Arroyo and Ayden Birch.

The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints Missionary Fund.
