Roberta Jasso

Roberta P. Jasso, 78, of Silver City passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Fort Bayard Medical Center.

Visitation will take place on Monday, May 14, 2018 from five to six o’clock in the evening at Baca’s Funeral Chapels in Silver City.  The Prayer Vigil and Rosary will follow at six o’clock recited by Dr. Gilbert Arizaga.  The Funeral Liturgy will be on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at ten o’clock in the morning at St. Francis Newman Center.  Officiating will be Father Naripogula Prakasham.  Serving as pallbearers will be Vincent Jasso, Alex Jasso III, Robert Jasso Jr., Julian Padilla, Keanu Willis and Scotty Franklin.  Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Funeral Chapels.

Roberta was born on May 26, 1939 in Silver City to Anita Moreno.  She was married to Alizandro M. Jasso and they had seven children. Roberta worked most of her life and in her later years she attended and graduated from Western New Mexico University.   In 1983 she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Minor in Psychology.  She went on to further her education and entered the Master Program for Counseling in 1986.  Roberta also received a Child Development Associate from the University of New Mexico.  She worked at El Grito Headstart as a social worker and teacher.  Roberta was very proud of her accomplishments in life. Roberta was a wonderful mother, grandmother, friend and always took care of her family.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Roberta is survived by her children; Alizandro P. Jasso (Rosanna); Veronica Moreno (Mario); Bernie Jasso (Lisa); Angelica Franklin (Scott); and Robert A Jasso.  Grandchildren, Desiree (Blu Ortiz), Alex, Vincent (Rosanna), Melonie, Daniel (Tonia), Rudy, Julian, Sabrina (Martin Garcia), Vanessa, Adrianna, Valerie, Scotty Franklin, Robert Jr, Deanna, Santiago, Rito, Deigo, Ilana, Marcus, Sally Ann, Raul “Rocky”, Gilbert, Jacklyn, Chandra, Terrance, and Keanu.  Great-granchildren, Michael, Joe, Dejanee, Davian, Vincent Jr., Richard, Lillian, Daniel Jr., Diego, Tayler, Gaige, Jada, Zane, Veronica, Airebella, Kayven, Harlen, Sethaniel, Aniyah, Michael, Isaac, Kamari, Zanyiah, Anthony, Dahani,and Bella; Sisters, Nicki Fierro (Gloria Martinez) and Margaret Villa (Bruce); Son-in-law, Terry Willis. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Deborah Lee Jasso Legarda and Gloria Jean Willis; Alizandro M. Jasso; grandchild, Christina Rene Jasso and great-grandchild, Alizandra Jasso.
