Ruben R. Peralta, 83, of Reserve passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at the Silver City Care Center.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, February 14, 2019 from five-thirty to seven o’clock in the evening at Baca’s Funeral Chapels in Silver City. The Prayer Vigil and Rosary will be on Friday, February 15, 2019 at ten-thirty in the morning at St. Francis Catholic Church in Reserve. The Funeral Mass will follow at eleven o’clock in the morning and the burial will take place at St. Francis Cemetery. Officiating will be Father Anthony O. Dike. Serving as pallbearers will be Cameron Peralta, Gustavo Matuz, Elmo Martinez, Jeb Fowler, Robert Pena and Clifford Martinez. Honorary pallbearers will be James Baca, Adrian Peralta, Kenneth Harder, Carlos Valenzuela, Sammy Peralta and Skye Peralta.
Ruben was born on January 29, 1936 to Ramon and Pablita Romero Peralta in Reserve. Ruben was born at home and this was same the home he shared with his loving wife and family. Ruben was a cowboy and a country man and at a young age would break horses. He loved to hunt, play the guitar and harmonica and most of all loved to dance and he was a hard worker. His greatest passion was his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he loved very much. Ruben and Joice, his wife, were married for 59 years. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ruben is survived by his wife, Joice; son, Gabriel (Jennifer); daughters, Paula Peralta and Gwen Burns; eight grandchildren, Danielle, Cameron, Brandon, K’Dawn, Gabrielle, Mckayla and Elmo; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Pat Peralta (Connie) of Silver City and Ramon Peralta of Roswell; sister, Elvira Trujillo. He was proceded in death by his parents, Ramon and Pablita Peralta; brothers, Robert Peralta and Sammy Peralta; sister, Flora Abbott; grandson, Brandon Burns; great-grandson, Aiden Peralta.
