Shirley Elaine (Johnson) Compton

Shirley Elaine Compton, 56, Deming resident passed away Sunday December 30, 2018 at Mimbres Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be Saturday afternoon, January 5, 2019 at 3 o'clock at Baca's Funeral Chapel.

Cremation will follow at Baca’s Mimbres Crematory.

Shirley was born 1962 in Las Cruces, New Mexico on March 22, 1962 to Ora Wayne Johnson and Katherine Hallford. She grew up in Las Cruces and moved to Deming 38 years ago. Shirley was a sculptor, she touched many lives with her art. She built her own house from top to bottom as that was one of her many accomplishments. Shirley adored and loved her grandchildren Elora, James and Aiden.

Shirley is survived by her Parents Ora Wayne Johnson of Idaho Falls, ID and Katherine Wilson of Deming; one son Joseph Compton (Loraine) of Deming; two brothers, Samuel Lee Johnson (Lauren) of Crosby, TX and Daniel Wayne Johnson (Gabriel) of Wrecksburg, ID and one sister Dana Donnelly (Todd) of Shelley, ID; Grandchildren James, Elona and Aiden Compton.

She was preceded in death by her husband Larry Joe Compton.
