Sieglinde (Linda) M. Bivens, 71, of Lordsburg NM, passed away January 2, 2019, with her family by her side. She was born in Wurzburg, Germany on March 8, 1947, and was adopted by her loving parents Franz and Amalia Liedmann shortly after. In 1964, Linda married Bobby Joe Bivens who was stationed in Germany, and upon completion of his service in the army the two moved to Lordsburg. Together they started their own business, known as Bivens Lumber.
Later in life Linda went to Auctioneer School in Mason City, Iowa to be an auctioneer. Linda and her husband Bobby held many auctions around the Lordsburg area as a side business. For the past 18 years, Linda has been working for Southwest Escort Service as a pilot car driver for oversize loads driving all over the US. She enjoyed seeing all the different sites, small towns, and big cities along the way. She was loved by so many because of her personality—being very outgoing and friendly and never knew a stranger. Linda enjoyed spending time with her family, going camping and fishing, as well as relaxing at home with her companion Gary and her dog Brandy.
Linda is survived by her three children: Robby Joe Bivens and wife Shaun, Barbara Bivens and companion Larry Vargas, Jo Lynn Otero and husband Bobby, six grandchildren: Frankie Bivens, Lorri Anne Vargas, Breanne Bivens, Bobby Dalton Otero, Wesley Otero, Johnny Otero, and two great-grandchildren: Christopher Bivens and Cayden Bivens. She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, and husband Bobby Joe Bivens.
Services for Linda will be Friday, January 11, 2019 at the First Baptist Church 332 East 3rd in Lordsburg. Viewing is from 9-11am and services start at 11am. A procession will follow to Mountain View Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband. Pallbearers are Frankie Bivens, Bobby Otero, Tim Skelton, Jared Sanders, Duane Brojer, and Chris Sims. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Livingston, Ron Erikson, and Melvin Bivens.
The family asks that you join them at the James H. Baxter Civic Center at 313 East 4th following the burial to celebrate the life of their mom.
