Alex Garcia Sosaya

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle, Alex G. Sosaya.

He was born on April 13, 1958 and entered into eternal rest on his birthday, Wednesday, April 13, 2022 surrounded by his wife, Natalia and loving family. He and Natalia were soulmates who spent every moment together up until Alex took his last breath. He was loved by everybody who knew him. He was known as “Daddy/Pops/Tata" to his six children and called “Pampa” by his fifteen grandchildren and three great-granddaughters. He was “Compa” to some and a friend to many. He was small in stature, but a giant of a man with an even bigger heart. He was a great teacher and mentor to his children, grandchildren and anyone he met.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Natalia Armijo Sosaya, five children: Vincent, Hondo (Justine), and Yvette Sosaya of Silver City, Jessica Sosaya (Julio) and Michelle Martinez (Art) of Las Cruces; brothers, Richard, Robert (Patsy), Johnny (Lucy), and Mariano Sosaya; sisters, Rosie Geffs and Patti Smith (Jesus) of Garden Grove, California; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family; and, not to be forgotten, his beloved pets-Timmy, Nala, and Poonie.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Joey Torres; grandson, Joey Torres III; brother, Mario Sosaya; sister-in-law, Esperanza; and special compadres/in-laws, Chente and Nadine Molina.

Per Alex’s request, no services will be held. His memory will be carried on in the hearts of all who knew him.
