Alicia Ochoa Porras

Alicia Ochoa Porras, 66, Deming resident passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Mimbres Memorial Nursing Home.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 19, 2022, at 10 o’clock in the morning at CitiLife Church. Inurnment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Pastor Cesar Chavez will officiate. Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Mimbres Crematory.

Alicia Ochoa Porras was born on the 26th day of April 1956 in El Paso TX to Carlos and Aurora Ochoa. She was the 9th sibling of 17 in the Ochoa family. She grew up in Deming, New Mexico but loved to travel the southwest living as far west as Moore Park, California to the eastern town of San Marcos, Texas. Alicia was a lover of the savior Jesus Christ, animals, fashion, and décor. In life she loved generosity and to those who knew her she was often found ensuring they had whatever they were lacking be it food, clothing or anything else she could provide. She was a light to those around her inspiring belief in the savior and prayer to the lost. Alicia will be forever remembered in the mind and hearts of the family she left behind. 

Survivors include her 2 sons, Marcos Carlos (Elvia) Cortez of El Paso, TX, and Gustavo (Caroline) Porras of Los Lunas; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; 17 siblings, Mary, Abby, Ester, Aurora, Ophelia, Mary Helen, Romelia, Nick, David, Mike, Gabriel, Norma, and Lisa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos, and Aurora Ochoa, and 2 brothers, Carlos “Charlie” and Gumercindo Ochoa.
