Alonso Romo 59, of Santa Clara passed away April 20, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 from 5 to 7 pm at Baca’s Funeral Chapels. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 10 am on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Santa Clara Catholic Church led by Deacon Richard Rodriguez. The Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 am with Father Casmir Anozie officiating. Concluding services and burial will be at the Santa Clara Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Alonso Romo Jr, Antonio Romo, Adrian Romo, Ramon Rivera Jr., Michael Valenzuela, and Raul Pena.
Alonso was born September 20, 1962 in Moris, Chihuahua to Gildaldo Romo Perez and Maria de la Luz Acosta Daniel. He had been a longtime Grant County resident and owned and operated Romo Construction. Alonso was well known in the community. When he wasn’t busy with projects he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. On weekends his family would be awaken by his love for playing his acoustic guitar. His life was devoted to his wife and children.
Alonso is survived by three sons, Alonso Romo, Jr (Miya), Antonio Romo ( Monica), and Adrian Romo (Brianna); three daughters, Ana Jurado (Raul), Monica Jurado, and Lucia Valenzuela (Michael); one brother, Willevaldo Romo Acosta; three sisters, Luz Amanda Romo Acosta, Enriqueta Romo Acosta, and Gardenia Romo Acosta; 14 grandchildren, Ashley Sanchez, Joshua Quesada, Peter Angel Quesada, Randy Quesada, Alonso Romo III, Damica Romo, Naomi Romo, Jacob Romo, Andres Valenzuela, Noah Valenzuela, Adrian Romo Jr, Aliana Romo, Stephanie Pena, and Jessika Pena. Also surviving are eleven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Alonso was preceded in death by his wife Eulalia J. Romo; parents, Gildaldo and Maria De La Luz; siblings, Antonio Romo Acosta, Diego Acosta Romo and Maria del Carmen Romo Acosta; and two grandchildren, Alyxus Quesada and Cheyenne Valenzuela.
