Alvino R. Chacon Jr, aka ‘JR’, 42, a resident of Hurley, NM entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Gila Regional Medical Center in Silver City.
He was born June 10, 1983 to his parents, Alvino Chacon Sr and Virginia Chacon (Lopez) in Silver City.
Alvino was an extremely kind and generous person. Alvino had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need. He was a talented handyman; if he couldn’t fix it, he would always find a way. He also loved to draw and write poetry; he was a talented and creative artist. Alvino enjoyed dancing and listening to music. Everyone who knew JR knows he loved installing radio systems and speakers. He loved to hear his music loud. Alvino was also a huge Dallas Cowboys fan; he loved cheering on his team.
Alvino had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making everyone laugh. He had a beautiful smile that would light up the room. He loved spending time with his family and friends and had a very special place in his heart for his children. He also was very protective of his mom and cared for her always. Alvino was adored and loved by all who crossed his path. He will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Alvino is survived by his four children; two daughters, Jazlyn Chacon and Jaylene Farmer (Jack), and two sons, Josiah Chacon (Mackensi) and Jeremiah Chacon; his mother, Virginia Chacon; five brothers, Ray Chacon, Ernie Lopez, Ramon (Chris) Chacon, Shaun Joe Chacon, and Angel Chacon (Alexandra); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alvino Chacon Sr; one brother, Dennis Chacon and one sister, India Chacon.
Visitation will take place at eleven o’clock in the morning on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Baca’s Funeral Chapel in Silver City. A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at twelve o’clock noon. Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Funeral Chapels.
Honorary Pallbearers are his sons, Josiah and Jeremiah; and his nephews, Kaleb, Jonathan Jr, Isaiah, AB, Israel, Alejandro, Elijah, Abel, David Jr, and Ray Jr.
