Angelina Tarango

ANGELINA TARANGO, 82, lifelong resident of Lordsburg passed away Wednesday September 6, 2023 in the comfort of her home.

Visitation will be Friday September 15, 2023 at 10 o’clock in the morning at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where recitation of the rosary will begin at 10:30 to be led by Carlos Bejarano.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 0’clock with Fr. Jude Okonkwo, Pastor officiating.  Concluding services and interment will follow at Shakespeare Cemetery.

Angelina was born September 7, 1940 in Fronteras Sonora, Mexico and has lived in Lordsburg most all her life.  She raised her family in Lordsburg and is remembered as being a strong person for her family.  Angelina was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, caregiver, great cook, and especially a maternal figure to everyone.  She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

She is survived by her children, Santiago Tarango Jr. (Espi), Gloria Jarrott (John), Rebecca McCabe (Brandon), Daniel “Jama” Tarango (Donna), David Tarango and Christopher Tarango (Cambria); brothers Ramon Mata and Asuncion Garcia Jr.; sisters, Antonia Salallandia, Elaine Garcia, and Velia G. Jimenez; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Angelina was preceded in death by her mother Demetria Mata; parents Asuncion J. and Ysidra B. Garcia; siblings Matilde Montero and Maximo Salallandia; husband Santiago O. Tarango and grandsons, Oscar Magdaleno Tarango and Darian Rey Jarrott.

Pallbearers will be Angela Estrada Ortiz, Demitria J. Jarrott, Johnny Jarrott, Cody McCants, Josh McCants and Santiago Tarango III.
