Anna Guerrero

Anna Guerrero, 74 of Bayard, passed away April 26, 2022 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces surrounded by her family.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 10 am on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Bayard.  The Funeral Liturgy will follow thereafter.  Officiating will be Father Martin Okonkwo.  The Rite of Committal and burial will follow at the Hanover Cemetery.  Serving as casket bearers will be Malachi Jimenez, Timothy J. Jimenez, Angel Gabriel Guerrero, Alejandro Romero, Steven E. Jimenez and Pascual E. Jimenez. 

Anna was born June 11, 1947 in Bayard, NM to Adolfo and Anselma Lucero Lopez. She had worked for many years in the Jewelry Department at Walmart.  Anna was married to the love of her life, Gilberto for over 50 years. She was a very faithful servant of the Lord and preached his word to anyone who would listen. Anna prided herself in her big, United family. She loved everyone beyond words with such an unconditional, kind, Godly love. She was such a selfless person and was always willing to help those in need in whatever way she could. You could always find her in the kitchen making her family’s favorite dishes, such as frijoles charros, menudo, and honestly anything that came off of her stove was delicious. Anna was always so graceful and classy. She loved shopping and was always dressed to impress, from her jewelry down to her shoes. She was just fabulous! She was the backbone and glue to the family and will forever be greatly missed.

Anna is survived by her husband of 53 years, Gilberto Guerrero; children, Mike Jimenez (Max), Tim Jimenez (Martha), Angel Guerrero (Monica), Monica Sanchez (Eddie), Susana Romero (Alex), Patricia Guerrero, and Marth Jimenez; siblings, Johnny Lopez (Emma), Andres Martinez, Imelda Lopez (Reymundo) and extended brothers and sisters.  Also surviving Anna are 23 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.   Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Adolfo and Anselma; her son, Steven J. Jimenez; two brothers, Santiago Lopez and Albino Lopez.
