Armando C. Dominguez
On Monday March 2, 2020 our loving husband, father of 7 children, grandfather to 16 and great-grandfather to 21, passed away at the age of 86.
Armando was born on January 22, 1934 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Mariano Dominguez and Nemecia Contreras Dominguez.
He grew up on a farm in Mexico and passed that tradition onto his sons and daughters. He and his wife Juana Dominguez immigrated to the United States, namely Animas, New Mexico in 1954. His first job was working with Sydney Wright on his large Hidalgo County farm back in 1950.
In 1970 he went into business for himself by leasing farms, reaping the benefits of the rich soil in Hidalgo County. In 1975, he bought his first farm. There are only two ways to describe him. He is, was, will always be the epitome of a “family man” and “hard worker.”
Armando was preceded in death by his father, mother and his 3 brothers and 7 sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Juana Dominguez of 67 years; 7 children, Raul (Ellen), Lucy, Lucero (Dave), Rene (Felicia), Teresa (Frank), Daniel (Sylvia), and Ismelda (Carlos).
Serving as casket bearers were his grandsons, Jason Ramos, Chris Ramos, Daniel Dominguez Jr., Xavier Sanchez, Frank Garay Jr., Michael Dominguez and Miguel Sanchez.
A private ceremony was held by his request on Thursday March 5, 2020 at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Cotton City, New Mexico.
