Armando Miranda Jr Obituary

Armando Hernandez Miranda Jr, 77 of Silver City passed away at home Thursday, January 29, 2026. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Baca’s Funeral Chapels.

A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at nine o’clock in the morning on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Silver City. The Memorial Mass will begin at ten o’clock. A private committal service will be held at a later time. Father Oliver Obele will officiate.

Honorary Pallbearers are all of his grandchildren.

Armando was born December 28, 1948 in Silver City to Armando Sr. and Alice Miranda. After high school, Armando trained as an electrician and made a career in the mining industry. He married Diana Marquez and together they raised eight children. Armando will be remembered as a loving and loyal provider to many family members, loved ones, and friends. He was a trustworthy and generous man who would do anything for those he loved. Armando was a devoted member of the Catholic Church and loved the Lord dearly.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Diana Miranda; children, Abie, Daniel, Fabian, Steven, Armanda and April Miranda, Veressa Chavez, and Matthew Sierra; grandchildren, Isaiah Miranda, Zechariah Miranda, Ryan Miranda, Danyka Lewis, Brady Miranda, Baylor Miranda, William Miranda, Xavien Quiroz, Kalaiya Quiroz, and Samuel Stroman V. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren and his brother, Archie Miranda.

Armando was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Lillian Ponce and Sally Sierra.
