Arthur Montellano, 77, longtime Deming resident entered eternal rest on Monday, January 3, 2022 at Mimbres Memorial Hospital.
A viewing will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 5 to 6 o’clock in the evening at Baca’s Funeral Chapel. Cremation will follow and has been entrusted to Baca’s Mimbres Crematory.
Arthur was born February 13, 1944 to Margarita and Florencio Montellano. Arthur proudly served his country in the United States Army and considered it his greatest honor. In 1969, he married the love of his life Gloria. Together they raised 5 beautiful kids from which came many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who he absolutely adored. He considered his grandchildren and great-grandchildren his pride and joy. Arthur was a kind and gentle soul who loved to joke and share stories about his life and time in the military. He was slow to anger and quick to love and the anchor to our family.
Arthur is survived by his wife Gloria of the home; 3 children, Arthur Montellano Jr. of Washington State, Kathy Montellano of CA and Debbie (Eric) Cannaday of Savanah, GA; 9 siblings, Paul, Moses, David, Ruth, Alice, Tina, Esther, Sally and Mary; as well as his beloved 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Florencio and Margarita Montellano; 2 children, Donna and Paul BeeBee Montellano and a brother, Florencio Montellano II.
