Arturo "Shorty" Almanza

Arturo “Shorty” Almanza, 47, of Fountain, Colorado passed away Monday December 30, 2019.

In Fountain, Colorado a memorial service will be held Friday, January 17, 2020 at 5 o'clock in the afternoon at the Cross Creek Church. In Deming the memorial service will be held Monday January 20, 2020 at 2 o’clock in the afternoon at Baca’s Funeral Chapel.  Inurnment will take place at Mountain View Cemetery.

“Shorty” was born December 11, 1972 to Frances Almanza in Deming.  He was a kind man who always put his family first.  The love he had for his wife, children and family cannot be put into words. A simple man who loved God and loved unconditionally who was always ready to give the shirt off his back to help his fellow man.

“Shorty” is survived by his loving wife, Jamie Almanza of the home; daughters, Abby, Ashley, Adriana and Aubrey Almanza; mother-in-law, Cheryl West; sisters, Laura Almanza, Lisa Almanza, Terry Padilla, Jenny Padilla and Dolores Almanza; brothers, Jesus Padilla, Phillip Almanza, Albert Almanza, Ray Gonzales, Steve Duran and Luis Almanza. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Almanza Padilla; step-father, Aurelio Padilla Jr.; sister, MaryAnn Miller; brothers, David Almanza and Tani Gonzales; brother by love, David “Donut” Uzueta.
