Carlos R. Ugarte

Carlos R. Ugarte of Silver City, N.M. passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021, at the age of 73 at Gila Regional Medical Center in Silver City, N.M.

Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Funeral Chapels – Silver City. Military Honors are scheduled for Friday, September 3, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Fort Bayard National Cemetery.    

Carlos was born in Santa Maria, CA on August 1, 1948 to Augustine Guardado and Augustina Alanis Ugarte. Carlos above all things loved his family, country, and freedom. Carlos proudly served his country as an Army Ranger ensuring our freedom in this great country! He loved riding his motorcycle on long rides, “Far and Fast”, days on end. If you asked Carlos, “Where are you going?” He would answer “Wherever the road takes me!” and if you followed up with how was your ride, he’d reply “EVERY ride is a good ride!” Carlos was a journeyman boilermaker for thirty-two years with Boilermaker (Local 627) out of Phoenix, AZ. Within those thirty two years as a boilermaker, Carlos was able to work in many states, as well as Chile and North Africa. He will be greatly missed and has left a huge vacant space in our lives. Carlos was loved by all of us and left too soon. Rest in Peace.

Carlos is survived by three daughters: Corina Burch, her son, Jason Burch; Veronica Rivas (David), their children: Jonathon Ugarte, Jacob Rivas, Sedona Rivas, and Jadyn Rivas; Char-Lee Ugarte, her children: Tru Ugarte and Qwn Ugarte Gonzales; two sons: Joshua Ugarte, his son, Joshua Ugarte, Jr., and Cheyenne Ugarte (Asia)and their daughter, Zaidrianna Landon.
