Carol (Jamieson) Pursley

Carol Jamieson Pursley was born in Glasgow, Scotland on November 14th 1948 to Andrew Toal and Annie Allen Jamieson. Carol was the youngest of three children. She met and married the love of her life, Bill Pursley, in Scotland while he was in the Navy in 1971. After relocating to California, Carol became a mother to Garth Pursley in 1972.  

Carol believed in Jesus as a young girl and would go to church with her friends. Together, Bill and Carol had a revelation of who Jesus is in 1978 while living in Animas, New Mexico. They graduated from Bible College together in 1994 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 2001, Bill and Carol Pastored a Church in Cotton City, NM. Carol lead a weekly bible study and ministered together with Bill during Sunday Services.

Carol was a dedicated follower of Christ who loved to read the Bible. She genuinely cared for others, even the stranger walking down the street. Carol could be found on her porch waving and greeting all who went by. She enjoyed gardening and could create an oasis even in the middle of the desert. Her flower garden was always lush and flourishing. She loved to tell stories and testimonies of the goodness and faithfulness of God. If you were having a rough day, Carol could preach you happy! She wanted nothing more than to do the Will of God and bring others to Christ so that they could experience the love of God through a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Carol passed away in her home in Lordsburg, NM on September 18th, 2025 at 7am with her husband by her side. Though our hearts are grieved because of her absence, we can take comfort in knowing that she is present with the Lord. Carol's strong faith in the Lord, her prayers, and homemade enchiladas and beans will be profoundly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held at twelve o'clock noon on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at the El Dorado Community Center in Willcox, Arizona. Inurnment will follow at the El Dorado Cemetery.
