Cecilia “Ceda” Placencio Perez, 91, of Silver City, New Mexico passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Genesis Silver City Care Center.
A Recitation of the Holy Rosary led by Deacon Bill Holguin will take place at nine-thirty in the morning on Friday, September 30, 2022 at Baca’s Funeral Chapel in Silver City, New Mexico. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at eleven o’clock in the morning at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Silver City, New Mexico. Officiating is Father Oliver Obele. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place following the Funeral Mass. The family would like to extend an invitation for those who attend to join them after Mass for a fellowship meal at the Grant County Convention Center in Silver City. The Rite of Committal and Inurnment will be at one o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the Gila Mesa Cemetery in Gila, New Mexico. Officiating is Deacon Bill Holguin.
Casket Bearers are Teddy Martinez, Estevan Martinez, David Salgado, James Salgado, Robert Placencio, John Placencio, Patrick Abalos, Jeremy Abalos.
Cecilia was born on August 8, 1931 in Gila, New Mexico to Juan and Paula (Maldonado) Placencio. Earlier in life, she worked as a sales clerk, but those closest to her knew her primarily as a homemaker. She devoted much of her time to family and loved ones, especially to her nieces and nephews who loved their “Auntie Ceda” dearly.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie R. Perez; her parents, Juan and Paula Placencio; brothers Fidencio, Guillermo, Julian, and Manuel Placencio; her sister, Regina P. Martinez; nephews, Steve and George Placencio; great-nieces Paula A. Holguin, Valarie R. Teran, and Kennedy J. Rodriguez.
Cecilia is survived by four stepchildren, Theresa Trujillo (Ernie), Vickie Ogas (Steve), Ronnie Perez (Connie) and Louise Montes; eleven grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, nine great great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
