Celia Vasquez, 44, Deming resident entered eternal rest Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Mimbres Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will begin Sunday, January 9, 2022 from 3 to 4 o’clock in the afternoon at Baca’s Funeral Chapel. Recitation of the holy rosary will follow at 4 recited by Gloria Barraza. The funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, January 10, 2022 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Fr. Jesus Martinez will officiate. Cremation will follow and has been entrusted to Baca’s Mimbres Crematory.
Celia was born May 20, 1977 in Casa Grande, AZ to Samuel and Carlotta (Hernandez) Vasquez. She moved to Deming in 1993 coming from her home town, Casa Grande where she eventually made Deming her new home. She raised her 5 children on her own, later in time she met back with her love Luis Calvo and got married. Celia enjoyed cooking and always providing a great meal for her family. She was a very hard worker and did anything she could to provide for her family and on her spare time she enjoyed having a bomb fire, dance, listen to music and of course enjoy herself a nice cold beverage. What she loved most was being near her family, especially her grandchildren, who she loved dearly.
She is survived by her husband, Luis Calvo of the home; her children, Jose (Emelda) Madrid, Juan Carlos Madrid, Enrique (Marissa) Madrid, Alfonso Madrid and Yesenia (Jose) Madrid all of Deming; parents, Samuel and Carlotta Vasquez; 5 siblings, Roberto, Juan and Daniel Vasquez, Hendrietta Reyes amd Natalia Vasquez; as well as her 8 grandchildren.
Celia is preceded in death by a brother, Refugio Hernandez.
Serving as pallbearers will be Luis Calvo, Jose Rodriguez, Jose, Juan Carlos, Enrique and Alfonso Madrid.
