Christine Williams

Christine Williams, 82, of Mimbres, NM passed away on August 24, 2021 at Fort Bayard Medical Center.

Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Funeral Chapels – Silver City. Graveside service for Christine will be Friday, September 3, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Fort Bayard National Cemetery with Duane Springer officiating.

Christine Williams was born on March 17, 1939 to Hayden Bennett and Louse Buckelew of South Plains, Texas. Christine’s family moved to Roswell, NM and graduated from Roswell High School in 1958. She married William E Dudley in 1959. Christine and William had three children; two sons, James and John Dudley; one daughter, Terresa Dudley. Later in life Christine remarried in 1978 and married Melvin Williams. They both had one daughter, Heidi Williams.  Christine was an active member of the Church of Christ in Bayard, NM and Georgetown Chapter of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, canning and cross stitch embroidery. Christine’s signature embroidery was the praying hands.

Christine is survived by two sons, James and John Dudley of Santa Fe, NM; one daughter, Terresa Menard (John) of San Lorenzo, NM; son-in-law, John Menard of San Lorenzo, NM grandchildren, Michelle Trost of Tularosa, NM; Matthew Dudley of Ardmoore, OK; Jennifer and Christopher Tomlinson of Jacksonville, FL; ten great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Hayden and Louise Bennett; brother, Elvis Bennett; sister, Jean Ross; daughter, Heidi Williams; husbands, William Dudley and Melvin Williams.

Christine was passionate about donating to charities. Some of the charities she donated to were the Disabled American Veterans, Heart Association, and the Girls and Boys Ranch. The William’s family has asked in lieu of flowers to donate to any charity of choice in Christine’s name.
