Cynthia Teresa “Cindy” Garcia, age 58, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020 surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Deming, New Mexico on November 10, 1962.
Cindy was preceded in death by her sister, Sofia Rita Garcia. She is survived by her parents, Mary Giron Garcia of Las Cruces; Manuel Garcia of Deming; sisters, Roberta (Robert) Sylvis, Priscilla (Bruce) Linderman, Cristina (Sal) Lopez and Melissa (Ralph) Archetti all of Las Cruces; brothers, Ken (Jessie) Garcia and Manny Garcia JR. both of Deming, Peter Garcia of Las Cruces, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Cindy attended Alameda Elementary Court Jr High where she played basketball and volleyball. She graduated from Mayfield High School where she lettered in basketball. She also played softball for many teams and was considered the Best Pitcher with NO HITTERS. Cindy, also held a Pharmaceutical Assistant degree from the University of San Francisco. She retired from The Boeing Company in Everette, Washington where she made her home for many years receiving numerous awards and certificates during her employment.
Cindy was a devoted Catholic, she loved rosaries, and was devoted to her patron Saint; Saint Teresa of the flowers. Cindy loved to fish, and made sure there was always a fishing hole near where she lived. Cindy was a Seattle Seahawks fan, and made sure she yelled the loudest when other teams played against hers. She loved her brothers and sisters dearly, and returned home to be with them. Her last request was that her family and friends would celebrate her life at Saint Ann’s Catholic Church in Deming, NM (where she was Baptized and Confirmed) on Thursday June 24th, 2021 at 9:30 AM for the rosary and at 10:00 AM for the Memorial Mass followed by her inurnment at Mountain View Cemetery. Fr. Jesus Martinez will officiate.
