Darlene Hislop, 80, Deming resident passed away Tuesday January 5, 2021 at her home.
No services will take place as were her wishes. Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Mimbres Crematory.
Darlene was born October 8, 1940 to Adrienne L. Chew and Marion R. Carmichael in Frankfort, Indiana. She moved to Deming in 1999 coming from Silver City. Darlene owned and operated her own business, Sundar Originals since 1980, she had a talent for crafts, from painting, stained glass to just about anything that had to do with crafting.
She also enjoyed to travel, she and her husband, Sonny traveled all over the United States, including, Hawaii and Alaska; she enjoyed air guns, horse shoes, race cars and was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. She also had a green thumb, she loved plants and her family and animals.
She is survived by a son, Heath Hislop of Rio Rancho, NM; daughter, Debra Houston-Terry and her husband Ralph of Albuquerque, NM; 2 grandchildren, Devin and his wife Gina, Dustin and his wife Amber both of Tucson, AZ; 4 great-grandchildren, Paisley, Alyx, Rayya and Nomar.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hugh Hislop and brother, Pat Carmichael.
She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
