Delfina "Sugar" (Zamora) Harrison

Delfina “Sugar” Harrison, 75, Deming resident went home to be with Jesus on Friday, April 30, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 10 o’clock in the morning at Living Word Family Church. Inurnment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Pastor Jeff Sutton will officiate. Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Mimbres Crematory.

Delfina was born on June 26, 1945 in Winston, NM to Jose and Carolina Zamora. She was the baby of eight children. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She had an open-door policy at her home, everyone was welcome. Delfina loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved fishing and hunting. She loved Jesus first and foremost, and then she loved her Bear, the love of her life.

Delfina is survived by her husband, David “Bear” Harrison of 57 years; her children, Carolina Harrison (Gary) of Las Cruces, Cathy Bryan (Jaison) of Deming, David Harrison (Irma) of Deming, Dale Harrison (Camille) of Hatch; Stepchildren, Delbert Harrison (Kathy) of North Dakota, Denny Harrison (Sue) of Wyoming and Leslie (Kevin) of Wyoming; 19 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Jose Elizardo Zamora of Deming and Gilbert Zamora (Josie) of Canyon TX; a sister in law, Hortencia “Tenchie” Zamora of T or C, NM; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. As well as her best friend and partner in crime, Gretchen Hartman.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Jose Zamora and Carolina Telles Zamora; a brother, Celso Zamora, 4 sisters, Viola Rodney, Priscilla Tafoya, Eluvina Ortega and Cora Garcia, and her grandson, Anthony Cordova.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dustin Harrison, Kevin Cordova, Dylan Harrison, Matthew Cordova, Andrew Cottingham, Dale Ryan, Tyrell Harrison, Sidney Rodney, Celso Jr. Zamora, and Joe Zamora.
