Donald Lee Campbell (Don), 85, Deming, NM passed away peacefully at his home April 21st, 2018 surrounded by family.  Don was born December 14, 1932, to Donald and Fronda Campbell.  Don grew up and resided in the Springfield, MO area for many years.  As a youth Don loved competing in Golden Gloves Boxing and Soap Box Derby competitions.  Don was a United States Air Force veteran serving our country honorably from 1951 to 1955. Don married the love-of-his-life Donna (Black) in 1956.  They were happily married 61 years.  He retired in 1985 after 35 years working for Kraft Foods, Springfield, MO. where he was known as “Doc” to his co-workers.  His interests included family, art, history, reading, camping, travelling, woodworking, raising dogs and he loved bluegrass music.  Don was an avid fan of Kansas City Chiefs football and Royals baseball.  He is preceded in death by his parents Donald and Fronda Campbell, brother John Campbell and a baby sister, Virginia Campbell.  He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather.  Surviving family includes his wife Donna (Black) Campbell; his brother Jimmy Campbell and wife Vonna of High Ridge, MO; Don’s twin sister Barbara Bray of Ozark, MO; three daughters Lee Ann Grzib and husband John of Lees Summit, MO, Dana Roberts of Deming, NM, Linda Schlesselman and husband Ed of Spring Hill, KS; two granddaughters Amanda Roberts and Kelsey Grzib; three grandsons Reed, Brock and Lucas Schlesselman; two great-granddaughters Amaya Foster and Anya Grzib and many beloved nieces and nephews.  He touched so many hearts in his lifetime with the love and kindness he displayed and was loved by all that ever had the opportunity to know him. Arrangements were provided by Baca’s Funeral Chapel and Mimbres Crematory, Deming, NM.
