Donnie Silvas Obituary

Donnie Ray Silvas, aka “Heavy D”, entered eternal peace on Saturday, March 11, 2023. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Baca’s Funeral Chapels.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Linda Verdugo; parents, Mickey and Isabel Silvas; aunts/sisters, Ida, Sandra, Diana, and Stella; and cousin, Veronica Gonzales.

Donnie was born on November 3, 1964 to Linda Silvas. He grew up in Lordsburg and was a graduate of Lordsburg High School, Class of 1984. He had a passion for Harleys and low-rider dualies. Donnie loved listening to his oldies. He was a wonderful godfather to many, a great friend, and the best brother, uncle and dad. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his daughter, Tina Martinez; sisters, Carrie, Lorrie, and Nichole; brother, Valente Verdugo III; many nieces, nephews, friends, and brothers.

Honorary Pallbearers are Ernest Lazos, Joey (Francine) Ruiz, Vincent (Vanessa) Ruiz, Johnny Ruiz, John (Michelle) Silvas, David Contreras, Jason (Marsha) Jacquez, Nick (Jessica) Armijo, Felix Salas Sr., and Oscar (Mary) Flores.
