Eddie Esquivel

Eddie Esquivel, 67, passed away on March 20th, 2023 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He was the husband to Cecelia Esquivel. They shared 44 years together. 

Born in Lordsburg, New Mexico. Eddie was the son of Trinidad and Mica Esquivel. He was a Lordsburg High Graduate, class of 1974. Eddie worked at Miller Chevrolet and Southwest Supply for numerous years. He was a City Council member and served as the Mayor ProTem for the City of Lordsburg.

Eddie was a member of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, making European mounts for local hunters, wood working, making yard ornaments that many people enjoy, and loved taking on challenges of numerous projects including cleaning yards and plots at the cemetery. Eddie is remembered for his friendly personality and solution-oriented approach. The most important part of his life were his two beautiful granddaughters and three grandsons. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. 

Eddie is survived by his wife Cecelia Esquivel, children Raymond Adrian Esquivel (Liliana) and Alisha Therisse Alvarez (Caesar). Grandchildren Luke Ryan De La Garza, Raymond Zachery Esquivel, Adrian Liam Esquivel, Dallas Jordyn Alvarez, and Denver Autumn Alvarez. His siblings David Esquivel, Annette Esquivel Hinojos, and Dennis Esquivel including wonderful several nieces and nephews. 

Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Funeral Chapels.  Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 10 am on Friday, March 24, 2023 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Lordsburg.  The Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:30 am.  Officiating will Father Jude Okonkwo.  The Rite of Committal and burial will follow at Shakespeare Cemetery. Pallbearers are Luke De La Garza, Zachery Esquivel, Liam Esquivel, David Esquivel, Dennis Esquivel, and Ernie Granado.
