Edward Perez Sr., 72, a lifelong resident of Deming entered eternal rest Friday, May 7, 2021 at Mimbres Memorial Hospital.
The only son born to Fernando and Tomasa Perez on January 03, 1949, growing up with one sister Virgina Montoya. Edward graduated from Deming High School, class of 1967, enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. He proudly served his country in the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1969, where after being wounded, returned stateside to finish his service time. Edward married the love of his life, Ramona Lee on April 12, 1969, having just celebrated 52 years of marriage together. After getting married, they went on to create a family having seven children. A great lover of hunting, fishing, and camping, the woods was where Edward made some of the best memories with his family and best friends. He will be deeply missed and those memories will now be treasured for many years to come by those he has left behind.
Survivors include his wife, Ramona Perez of the home; 2 sons, Anthony Perez of Farmington, NM and Christopher (Isela) Perez of Deming; 3 daughters, Lupe (Bennie) Alanis of New Braunfels, TX, Vanessa (Rudy) Barrientos of El Paso, TX and Judy (Joseph) Gallegos of Deming; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; as well as many numerous extended family and friends.
Edward is preceded in death by his parents, Fernando and Tomasa Perez; 2 children, Edward Perez Jr. and Irene Perez and a sister, Virgina Montoya.
As per his wish cremation will take place with Baca’s Mimbres Crematory.
